Default Week of June 25 - NEW Poker After Dark

New week on Poker After Dark.

Preview of the week is here.

Highlights of the week include a "battle of the sexes" (three men, three women) and the voice of Poker After Dark, Ali Nejad, moves from the booth to the felt...

When Annie Duke and Vanessa Rousso are at your table, the game becomes all about tilt control. This makes Howard a clear favorite; not only will his Zen allow him to tune out the chatterboxes, but being used to Annie will help tremendously as well.

Wow. What a horrible table. 3 women that are either terrible or intolerable, a comedian, a guy that doesnt play anymore and Ali Nejad.

As soon as they learn about Rousso being at the table, I imagine the scene in the Matrix where the blonde chick gets killed.

"No. Not this way. Nottt thiss waaay"

Was it Opposite Day when they planned this table?

Maybe this will have some opposite effect where the table sucks so much that people can't get enough of it.

Or maybe NBC has just run out of "themed" ideas.

Only about half of the matches have themes. If they all had themes, it would somewhat reduce the potential to give new players an opportunity to participate on the show. This season, 14 players who did not play in the first season will make their debut so that viewers can see how they play under this format. Brad Booth and Marco Traniello were two such players from International Week, and Joe Hachem and Greg Raymer from Champions Week.

There were a total of 43 players who participated in PAD1, 42 in PAD2. Some obviously play more than once, but none more than 3 matches per season. And good news...Phil Hellmuth is yet to appear on PAD2, and he will be in 3 new matches before the end of the year, including the season finale, which features the six players we see every week in the show open.
