Re: 90\'s rock music
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] my all time favorite Rock album of the 90's is the original Candlebox album. 3 of my fav songs are on there. They died out pretty quickly because their 2 follow-up albums sucked. Check them out... you won't be dissapointed... especially track 3 & 5 [/ QUOTE ] This is good. I liked Candlebox's first album, but the others did kind of suck. 10,000 Horses was an alright song, but Far Behind is definitely their best. [/ QUOTE ] I still have 2 tracks from this album on my playlist, namely 'You' and the aforementioned 'Far Behind'. They are great songs. |

Re: 90\'s rock music
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I dont think the OP particularly minds me naming a few bands that I think he should check out that just happened to be 2 or 3 years before his stated date Rob. [/ QUOTE ] Joy Division disbanded (well, turned into New Order) in 1980. They were a 1970s punk band. Not 1990s rock band. This is not splitting hairs. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you very much. I was beginning to wonder if I had perhaps stumbled into place where I would be forever misunderstood by everyone. And just for the record (so to speak), I love the Smiths and I love Joy Division. They simple have no bearing on these proceedings, and should be excluded as not germane to the matter at hand. |

Re: 90\'s rock music
[ QUOTE ]
zomg I can't believe I forgot Everclear, Oasis, and Beck. I think we will look back fondly on the quality of rock in the 90's. Def compared to the 2000's imo (and I'm 21 so I don't see a generational bias). That post two above this one has a great list of the hit singles of the decade. Also add to that list Closing Time and Bittersweet Symphony. [/ QUOTE ] OK, you seem like a nice young lad. That said, I could make a strong argument for your disembowelment if you attempt to spread the poisonous bile of dreck like "Closing Time." I would sooner give myself a Colombian Necktie with a butter knife than purposely listen to that horrifying example of "90's rock." Now, do you see what you did? Nice boy, just trying to play a little online poker, drink few Coors Lights, and maybe touch a breast here and there, and BLAMMO--you inspire this vitriol from me. At least you forgot to mention that song that I hear in my nightmares from time to time, that song about not being a perfect person and about finding a reason to live, because if you mentioned THAT song, I might really need to go off. And if 3 Doors Down was a band in the 90's (I have no idea if they were), everyone ought to just think twice before recommending them here. I got some mad strong jujubwana. |
