Re: What the Hell could i have really folded this on the river
you probably can't fold the river.
you probably can find a turn bet that doesn't [censored] the whole hand up. edit: you mean river all in for Ten...like $10? in that case it doesnt even matter. still just shove the turn though |

Re: What the Hell could i have really folded this
is this post serious?
if no, you suck. if yes, dont play a game with such a retarded betting structure. this structure is more like limit than no limit, and its stupid. obv in the hand you are getting all the money in, and its silly to ask if you overcommitted on the turn when you were ahead. |

Re: What the Hell could i have really folded this
write this down: never fold top set on any street getting 19:1 all-in. you will win the hand about 6% of the time, so this rule should show a small profit.

i am too lazy to look it up what were the odds i had to win that hand [/ QUOTE ] well i had a little fun at your expense, but you seem like a nice guy so here is some serious advice. there's no place you can look up the odds that you will win the hand, because that depends on how well your opponent plays. at this level, i would expect your opponent to have the following hands on the river: -- 33,99,jj-aa,kq,kt,kj,aj,random diamonds,qj,jt,j9,qt,t8 some of those would require your opponent to play a little oddly or badly, but whatever. the point is, on the river you beat almost all his hands. same thing on the turn. so you put the money in. it's even clearer because you have like nothing left. when i started playing live no-limit, i thought that getting stacked meant that i messed up. i brought one or two buyins, and if i lost them i went home. but actually, getting the maximum value from your hands means getting stacked sometimes. that's okay as long as you do more stacking than getting stacked. you did everything fine here. the only thing i might change is the flop bet -- i'd bet around the pot here (20), since it will get called by some hands that might fold for 40. but turn/river are perfect. don't second-guess yourself just b/c you got unlucky this time. you had a huge hand that will usually win, so stick the money in. |

Yeah you're getting good odds on the river, but look at how the hand played out. I'd say villain shows up here with QT or T8 about 98.547835% of the time. c/f river. MAAAAYBE c/c to induce a bluff, but definitely don't bet, he folds everything worse and calls with hands that beat you. |
