Default NL10 TPTK

Villain is 13/8.6/2.7 and his att. to steal blinds is 18.1. Pretty solid player from what I'd seen at the table, just pretty tight.

Fold I think - you're not good against his range for b/3-betting this board. Also, just calling the flop may be a better option.

Why not 3bet preflop? He's nitty so he'll probably 4bet big pairs pre and save you money vs getting b/3b on the flop. Not saying this is definitely correct, but i wonder if anyone else agrees with me. fwiw, AQo is about the worst hand i'd do this with.

Why not 3bet preflop?

because he's quite tight, and I'm out of position. It was a very marginal situation that I didn't want to make a big pot over.

You'd rather do this with KQ? JJ? Not sure what you mean

I thought you were in position? I'm looking at the HH again and i'm still quite sure you were in position?

What I meant was I wouldnt 3bet KQ or AJ or worse. Wouldn't he 4bet QQ+ OOP? My experience has been that people with these stats get excited and try to dump the money in pre.

I guess what i was getting at was that 3betting pre was the cheapest way to find out if you're up against a big pair. If you dont get 4bet, you'll still lose money to AK the times an ace flops, but it wont cost you as much as getting b/3b on the flop when he has QQ+. Plus you might have FE against other AQ and JJ- given his nitty stats.

What do you think? I'm certainly no expert and open to hearing why i'm wrong.

This certainly isn't a great spot to 3-bet for sure... villain is too tight, AQ against his raising range is a coinflip at best. If you had 3-bet preflop and got pushed on, you could safely fold... if you get called, you can take the pot down with a cbet most of the time. BUT: You are in deep [censored] when you get raised on the flop because villain will probably do it only with KK+, but there's too much money in the pot to fold TPTK.

Read this about 3-betting light: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post7886535

As played, I fold this all day. Sometimes I call his cbet for pot control.
