KK playing 150bb encounters resistance on paired board
Viallain is a taggy 18/16 who has not c/r in 390 hands.
How should I react to his flop checkraise? What would plans be for future streets? Re: KK playing 150bb encounters resistance on paired board
I guess fold...but nobody check/raises this flop with a J or 99 ever, do they? Weird spot.

Re: KK playing 150bb encounters resistance on paired board
Well i elected to call and the turn bricked as the 5d, he made a rather weak lead of $18. I was planning on folding to a decent bet, as I believed a strong bet would narrow his range somewhat. How has his range changed, how should we react?

Re: KK playing 150bb encounters resistance on paired board
I call flop and re-evaluate the turn probably folding to a big bet.
As played though it absolutely looks like he's value-towning you here with either 99/AJ, probably the later as 99 probably doesn't raise the flop and the weakish lead could well be to induce a raise. I think the standard check-raise call tells him you most likely have QQ+ and hes trying to milk his hand for max value. He certainly doesn't look like hes scared of the draws out there and he probaby check/calls turn with a draw figuring you won't be folding an overpair if he leads or check/raises. |
