I saw the second Hideo Nomo no hitter when he was with the Red Sox against Baltimore. I dont really remember anything about it, I remember it being pretty boring because the crowd at Camden Yards doesnt get too excited.

On September 26, 1981, a friend of mine from school invited me to go see Nolan Ryan pitch against the Dodgers. For some not-very-good reason I can no longer remember, I decided not to go.

That night Ryan pitched the 5th no-hitter of his career and his only one as an Astro. After much contemplation, I decided not to kill myself, but it was pretty close.

$1,000 transfer via FTP to the 1st person to recount a NY Mets no-hitter.

I was at this game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...96509110.shtml

My memory was that Cleon Jones broke up the no-no in the 7th (It was actually in the 5th and he was PH'ing for the pitcher). I remember the hit was a liner to right that Aaron played on a short hop and my old man was yelling at Aaron that he should have dove for it. Also remember Cloninger hitting a 3 run homer.

There was a year in San Diego when the guy I share season tickets with saw 2 no hitters pitched against the Pads on nights when he had the tickets. I know AJ Burnett was one when he was with the Marlins and the other guy was a Cardinal ( a rookie named Smith?). Too lazy to look it up right now.

re. Met no-hitter...Bobby Ojeda might have had one for the Mets if he hadn't decided to take up gardening as a hobby.

(I remember the Haddix game, as well. Unbelievable. Years later, the Braves, who had appeared in the two previous World Series, revealed they had stolen every one of catcher Smokey Burgess' signs and they STILL couldn't touch Haddix, who only threw a fastball and a curve. The National League gave Harvey a silver service for his effort, with 12 goblets.)

How the hell do you steal signs when you never have a runner on base?

Making Haddix's effort even more remarkable is the fact that the Braves hitters knew what was coming. In 1993‚ Bob Buhl admitted that the Braves bullpen pitchers were stealing the signs from Smoky Burgess‚ who could not crouch down all the way. They would place a towel on the bullpen fence in such a way to signal fastball or breaking ball.

There has never been one. Can I at least have $500?

You're thinking of Bud Smith who threw a no-no his rookie year in 2001.
