Default TT vs. chip leader ($10)

I'm in second place and it's a battle of the blinds as well. Middle stages of the tourney, blinds are 400/800 with 50 ante.

All fold to the small blind, the chip leader (t45,760), who opens to 2,400. I'm in the big blind (t41,956) holding T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I re-raise to 7,200. Small blind instantly goes all in.

I have no real reads as the small blind was only recently moved to my table. In about 3 orbits we haven't played a hand against each other.

Is this an automatic fold? I'm approaching this tourney as final table or bust. Is this a good opportunity to double up?

Thoughts?

I think you can fold this, so long as villain has not been too aggro. What does he do this with? <99? doubt it. at best you are up against AK.

fwiw, i would smooth call pf in this position usually. you have position, you guys are deep; no need to end the hand right now or put yourself to a terrible position

If you are going to fold to a 3-bet then reraising preflop is horrible.

I happily call and get it in against his 55+/AJ+/KQ

fold.... you got a bunch of chips and you dont need to put it in a situation that you could easily be beat or in a race

I definitely call. No one ever has a hand in the blinds, and if they do that is just really unlucky.

The big question is whether or not villain does this with 88/AJ/KQ. If he does, then you should call; if he doesn't, then it's a clear fold.

My only other thought is that he sounds a little too passive (at least when it comes to tangling with you) to do this with 88/AJ/KQ here. Three orbits should be enough to get some kind of read if he was fairly aggressive. Of course, I play lots of PLO so I'm a bit used to much higher VP$IP stats.
