More Notes on Notes Nomadtla I think this is by far the best thread on note taking. Possibly replace BisonBison's thread. (its linked in Nomadtla's thread)

I think these 2 posts would be a good addition to the FAQ as they describe the growing process of a poker player. It gives you a reference point for where you're at now and what to look for later.

-edit- I just noticed that the "To the new and aspiring player" post has a similar summarization of a players stage, but I could still find myself better in above posts. Up to the mods.

hey noob, thanks for bumping!

can we remove the section that talks about posting results after discussion of a hand has concluded? apart from many people not understanding when discussion has "concluded", it re-enforces the bad habit of caring about results.

OK, guys. It looks like any link in the FAQ to a thread in the archives rather than to an active or recently bumped thread doesn't work. There may have been a change on archiveserver related to the forum upgrade. I don't have a way to fix this easily w/o mining the archives for updated links. I'm not going to take it on myself to do this. However, if someone here wants to do the grunt work, I can promise you copious thanks from me and minor celebrity status around here for approximately 24 hrs.
