op, what type of pedals do you use, clipin, toestrap, or straight platform?

whats most common for messengers?

[/ QUOTE ]

sometimes normal clipins or eggbeaters (i've broken like 5 sets of these). right now i have some hybrid - spd on one side and platform the other.

overall its 50-50 . toe strap v clip ins.

My nuts (balls) hurt after I ride a lot on the bike. Is that just me and noone else gets that? If no, is there some secrets of trade on how bike messengers get around that issue?

Do you think there would be a market for motorcycle couriers (greater range to the burbs), assuming higher delivery fees?

Is the business holding steady, growing, dying?

I've thought about this before but I don't think it would work nearly as well, mostly because people are going to be much much less receptive to motorcycles ignoring every traffic law than they are for bicycles. It might work ok in states where lane splitting is legal though.

nah business is dying with the advent of broadband and e-signatures.
also, motorcycles cant get away w the [censored] we do. they would last about one week before they got killed and/or heavily fined for traffic violations.

Have you ever met or ridden with Lucas Brunelle (linked earlier in the thread to NYC race)?

You mentioned you haven't done any critical mass rides in years, but what about street races, or (I think they're called) alleycats? Ever compete in the championships you linked earlier in the thread?

If you have any other favorite bike videos, please share! Thanks.

How old is the oldest (reasonably successful) bike messenger you've known?

get a harder saddle. ur seat is proly soft so you push down on ur balls. with a hard saddle your weight will be mostly on your grundle bones which will cause discomfort in other ways (saddle sores) but its easier to avoid.
