Flop set but turn brings flush
Villain is 45/30/3 over only 30 or so hands. He doesn't seem terrible over the small sample. Mainly looking for feedback on river. I think I have to bet here, but not sure if it should be b/c or b/f. I only have to be good 21% of the time but not sure if he shows up with worse that much.

Re: Flop set but turn brings flush
b/c. I think you beat enough to make a call in this situation.

Re: Flop set but turn brings flush
well it seems unlikely he has 2pair or a worse set. This river is very unlikely to have improved him, and it's not a scare card at all, so I think it is very unlikely that he is making this somewhat small raise as a bluff.
I don't like folding sets but I srsly doubt that you're ahead often enough here. |

Re: Flop set but turn brings flush
What hands are we getting value out of on the river?
is anything wrong with a c/c? |

Re: Flop set but turn brings flush
c/c is worse than b/f because we want value from jacks or even something he doesn't want to fold, like A9. c/c keeps us from getting value from a lot of the random crap a 45/30 will have, and let him bet what beats us (and a couple of slow played sets, which I doubt this guy does often at all based on his stats, that we beat).

Re: Flop set but turn brings flush
fair enough, then how about tweaking the bet sizing, if we are trying to get value from a wide range like you said, we should lower our vb to ~30, when we are heavily raised we can fold just the same, and its gonna get paid way more. Youre nearly potsize vb'ing, not really good in this situation.
