Default minraising in HU SNGs (NLTRN)

Been thinking a lot on this topic lately. Specifically I've been considering minraising out of position especially against a wild/aggro guy...For example, let's say that i have 33 and the board comes 882 rainbow where he's raised pre and i called out of position. Check calling sucks, how's about check minraising?

Are there other spots where minraising is ok? I am not talking about preflop with short stacks and premium hands, i'm more interested in post flop spots.

Thanks-Indy

Just wondering but what do you want to accomplish with the minraise?

I think he wants to cheaply feel out his opponent.

I think you should never minraise... ever. We've had this discussion before, but, its bad poker. If you're playing the way a very good player plays you should not ever need to do this.

I think theres a lot of good situations to minraise but thinking bout nichomacheos comment, he's right...The good(very good) players ive watched on the internet almost dont min raise at all whereas most ppl will do it on occasion

I'm not going to say you should never minraise (though I don't think I have done it in at least 500 games) I think your example is not the greatest.

What does a minraise do on an 882 board with 33 against an aggro? Are you expecting to minraise and fold to a shove?

Chk Min raise to induce bluff shove sounds sexy as per example.

against the right player a minraise can piss them off and make them throw it all in.

but that kind of player is so bad and over-aggressive that it probably doesn't matter how much you raise.

On the river a minraise for value isn't bad. (i don't think so at least.)

Minraises are often interpreted by opponents as value raises.

I sometimes use them as a bluff. Against the right opponent it will work better than larger raises.
