The recent "favorite non-Simpson Simpsons character" thread has made me quite nostalgic for the show (which I haven't watched since about 2000 or so). The apex of my enjoyment was high school, mid-90s, when basically every original episode air was awesome / comedy gold.

I haven't read much about the movie, less afraid of spoilers more out of apathy. But I'm getting kind of excited now and definitely plan on watching it this weekend.

I plan on seeing it as soon as I can, but I'm preparing myself for a less-than-stellar movie filled with old recycled Simpsons humour.

I really hope they've been saving up some super material all these years.

I REALLY want this movie to be funny, but I don't know how much good material the writers have left. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

btw- I totally don't want to see this movie, it's going to suck, but the way the Spider Pig bit was set in the trailers was gold.
