Some serious favorite hands from live players overheard recently and other gems.

"Thanks dealer, you just gave me the goldmine" Referring to his J8s he just got dealt UTG. He showed me after I had mucked.

"Cool, I'm lovin dis one here" Referring to this girl's QT offsuit she flashed with glee. A Ten flopped so she thought she had the nutz.

"King Ten is my favorite hand you know. I always win with it"

"I hate pocket Aces in this game. You cannever protect them"

"I never raise preflop. It is not worth it in limit"

"I can't play these, these cards are way too high" (Actually from a pal of mine who was kidding but the playas laughed).

My all-time fave from a clueless lady. The board is KQ852. On the river I bet my set of Queens (which I've been betting hard the whole hand thru). She calls, says "there's no point in raising, I think we have the exact same hand" and tables her pocket Kings.

Yes, our schedule is packed with tough games, including dates with the dolphins, jets, rams and bengals.

Conversation at the table yesterday:

P1: "My daughter majors in microbiology. What's that?"
P2: "I know what that is."
P1: "What, are you some kind of scientist?"
P2: "I was a math major in college, master's in CS."

P2 pauses to look at his hand, disgustedly mucks and asks the dealer to scramble the deck, then repeats his request 3 times in the next 10 minutes. I could stand to improve my win rate. Is there a math major here that can explain to me the mathematics of the scramble?
