Last Comic Standing - anyone watching this?

Some of the selections have been questionable to say the least.

Last week, I thought that fat girl completely bombed, and was shocked that she was picked to go through to the finals.

This week, I was disappointed that the woman from Australia with five kids didn't make it. I thought she was the best of that bunch.

Seems like this show could be a lot better than it is.

If you don't find him hilarious I guess you fall into the category of the Dane Cook fan prolly.

Someone who I never even busted a sound or smirk while watching him do 2 specials trying to see what the fuss was about.

Or you just dont like funny fat black guys, i think this guy is the def of what a comic is.

Okay - I take it back after watching last night. He KILLED while being heckled.

I'm a big fan of Gerry Dee, but so far he hasn't done [censored]. That chick is really funny too (not the fat one, or the British one - the other one).

Dante sucked. How the hell has he been doing stand up for 20 years? Oh, and the dude who won the challenge - that was a pretty sick routine.

This show is ridiculous. It will be hard to ever think anything else after the Dat [censored] Phan mess--and that was season 1, way to start off on the right foot.

Seen Levelle plenty of times and he is never funny. The VH1 dude Doug Benson, he is probably the only kind of funny guy on the show. But that is just another part of the show that sucks to me, it is a bunch of no names mixed in with guys that are pretty recognizable. Nice playing field. I turned on the show for the first time a week ago and immediately recognized Crawford, Benson and Amy Schumer.

Dante is/was terrible. The fat chick is real bad. The country guy's gimmick was up after 10 seconds (that was when I started to cringe). The dorky kid never said anything funny. The British chick had a funny accent too bad the accent didn't say anything funny. Gerry Dee is forgettable.

This show will always have a hard time getting quality comedians on it b/c there is a reason they haven't been "discovered." Comedy isn't like music as far as getting your name out there...any club in any city will hand you a microphone and if you are funny you will eventually make it (for the most part, there have been exceptions obviously but those exceptions are tough to comb through for a competition every year). OTOH if you are a great singer that doesn't mean you will make it, you may not have the right look or your sound may not fit what the record label is looking for and on and on and on...this is why singing shows gets a little better talent (not to say they are great).

I agree with you. That being said it is an entertaining hour of TV especially during the summer when nothing else is on. The Heckler thing this week was really stupid because if you know who is heckling you hours before they heckle you and you have a microphone you should be able to destroy them.

Interesting analysis, thanks. I actually enjoyed the balance of the acts in last week's episode (forgot to watch this week), but their choices for who made the cut were baffling. Your hate for Lavelle is kinda confusing too, but all I know him from is that short bit he did.

By the way the guy who manages the LCS website on NBC sucks. They say they'll post the most recent ep the day after its original airing, but here we are over a week later and they haven't posted the one in my OP, or I would provide links for reference.

When did I say I hated him? Just b/c a guy does unfunny material doesn't mean you hate them, this comment is kind of strange.

I don't like his comedy b/c I have seen him do the same tired routine on BET.

i saw doug benson playing poker (1/2 NL i think) at the borgata once, i think he was there as an opening act or something for stephen lynch

you should obviously root for him because of this
