Default WPT Championship Day 4

http://www.pokerxfactor.com/news/

I came into the day with 322k chips, which was below average. Since many of the big hands I played were covered by the wonderful people at Cardplayer and Pokerwire, there isn't any reason for me to rehash those here. Instead, I'll just add a little color.

Today's play was in total contrast to the play of Day 1. On Day 1, everyone saw flops and played postflop poker. Today, the battles were mostly fought preflop. I was very fortunate today in that while I only had 1 pair higher than JJ all day(AA), and didn't get any action with it, I had JJ, TT and AK a total of 5 times between them, and all 5 times there were raises ahead. I shoved all my chips in all 5 times, and eliminated 2 players in the process. The other 3 times I took down nice pots preflop, which was fine with me. So, while my cards were certainly well worse than what one would expect, I was able to get some great matchups.

I didn't have a single race today, which I am happy about. I am also thrilled that the 3 times I got my $ in ahead pre, my cards managed to hold up:

88 v Amir's A2hh allin preflop in a small pot.
JJ v 66 allin preflop.
AK v Michael Thuritz's A-10 allin preflop.

I also got my $ in bad once, but someone up above helped me out when my 85 beat KQhh allin pre. Ironically, this was against the same player who outplayed me and Baxxed me on Day 1(see blog).

I did take a big hit during the final level when I elected to push from the SB when it was folded to me at 15k-30k/4k w/A9 and the BB called me w/AJ for her 740k chips. I had a lot of hope on the flop of A33, as I had 15 outs to chop or win the pot, but the following 2 cards bricked off and she got paid for a good call with 22 players left facing a big pay increase at 20 players.

The highlight of my day, however, was the slew of hands I played against Men the Master. I was able to win every big one, and lost only 2 insignificant(to me) pots. By the end of the night, the small ones were significant to him

I ended the day with a little below average, but certainly playable 1.25 million chips, and look forward to tomorrow's action, as 19 of us will be competing for $3.7 millon and the coveted Championship.
