A high call downs vs unknowns.
My WTSD has been 32-33 for the longest time. Im wondering if I should be making these calldowns more often.

Re: A high call downs vs unknowns.
I like the first, don't like the second.
more draws, semi scarecard on river for villain to use <=> dry as hell board and no reason for villain to triple barrel because when we call turn we are taking ace high to showdown also, how the f can you have wtsd of 32-33 :/ |

Re: A high call downs vs unknowns.
Ive sucessfully called down certain players king high especially when the flush card misses and I know there was a good chance they were o the draw.
With no reads it becomes harder to call down ace high but if you do it and then hit a monster within the next few hands just watch the whole table sit and pay you off, it's like they all beacme one big ATM! If you never call down ace high you will never know the feeling of flopping a house and the guys with 66 and 77 calling 3 bets on every street! When it happens it's beautiful! |

Re: A high call downs vs unknowns.
i think your wtsd is on the low end of acceptable, also it may have something to do with the limits, and not being HU after the flop as much.

Re: A high call downs vs unknowns.
I play both hands the same. In hand 2 it's a blind battle so unless villain plays tight postflop I call down (I've seen a bunch of really bad raises and c/r's in blind battles on paired boards). Although, any Ace beats you in hand 2 (except for tying with A5) so I guess maybe it's close, and kaby does have a point that this board is super dry so I guess maybe you should fold unless you've seen villain pull crap like this on paired board with crap.

Re: A high call downs vs unknowns.
Without a read I think the first one is close, but I would tend to calldown. Change the board to 9859 and I think it's a clear calldown unless awful cards fall on the river.
Second one I'd call once I got to the river. What were you doing on a blank turn? |

I don't know how the FTP and AP 2/4 games play, but at the stars 2/4, you could probably find folds to unknown on both. Against a 5/10+ unknown, I like both call downs, though the second one is closer. Nina, if you think 35% wtsd is inconceivable... head asplode? [/ QUOTE ] Not that 35% is inconceivable, I understand thats its pretty normal, but I feel like I make a lot of call downs and my wtsd has never been close to it and I dont understand why. Also wtf @41 wtsd. Are you calling down with like any K or better or something? EDIT: My W$SD is 55 if that makes a difference. |
