With a decent song on heavy MTV rotation they probably could've been a platinum band, but that tells more about the power of MTV than the quality of Hanoi Rocks. Their songs were mediocre at best, so there always was zero chance for GNR-like status. The closest to success Hanoi Rocks guys have ever been? |

No. They were late in the game for their genre which was somewhere between Ratt and Poison (closer to Ratt in sound and Poison in look).
