Default Completely ridiculous Pokerstars new disconnect policy

Playing a HU SNG non-turbo on stars right now. My opponent disconnects... sweet free money. So yadda yadda he times out, they give him extra time as usual for the disc. Then he finally folds his hand and I'm expecting for him to be sitting out, where I can then just raise every hand and win in like 7 min. Instead, for some reason they've changed this policy.

Now it says he's disconnected where his chip count would be. But it doesn't auto-fold him. Now it takes the regular 25~ seconds for him to time out on every hand. This is EXCRUCIATING long... and the worst part is I can't leave since I have to raise the hands. Even worse is he could still come back in the freaking 30 minutes this is going to take.

Once an event reaches the bubble (not really relevant for your HU event), the tournament enters a special mode whereby disconnected players receive extra time.

This extra time does not count against the blind clock, but it will add about 7 minutes to the length of the event. A player gets 4 minutes the first hand, 2 minutes the second, and one minute on the third. Then he only gets the normal 25 seconds each hand. In 'disconnect extra time' mode a disconnected player will never be made to 'Sit Out'.

We believe it is important to protect the interests of players who are experiencing temporary internet difficulties in a tournament end game situation and hope you'll exercise patience in the few times you'll be affected by these delays.

As an aside, this isn't a new disconnect policy. It's been like this at least as long as I have worked here (about a year).

Okay this makes sense for an MTT big stakes crap whatever whatever, but for a FIVE DOLLAR SIT AND GO?

And previously in the past the disconnects have been how I said. Don't know when this went in place, but you used to be able to finish them out in like 7 minutes cause it would auto-fold. This is just way way way way too long.

Something HAS to change with this policy. 40 minutes just to blind him out. GREAT!!!

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah I used to play HU SNGs at stars about a year or so ago, and when someone timed out and disconnected, you'd be able to steal their blinds really quickly. That does sound really annoying. Who needs longer than a minute to reset your internet connection?

Yeah this is pretty ridiculous IMO. I pay for a backup connection. If they don't, oh well.

wtf? your opponent disconnects from the internet, you win chips every minute your opponent is away, and you are complaining about the inconvenience? how the hell do you think your opponent feels that he has been disconnected and chips are being transferred risk free to you?

seriously, you need to take a good hard look at yourself.
