FWIW, I do the exact same thing with the made hand pretty often.

If Villian has seen you do this with a made straight then I can understand the play. If not, I think this is spewage.

dave,

if you want to try this move, a C/R is like 100 times better

also, can you buy in for 200BB on absolute?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes on the 200BB buy in.

guys,

I don't think you can class this as spewage, just b/c we got a ton of outs when behind, and it would take balls:

<------------this big-------------->

for villain to call off 200BB with 1 pair.

That said, there are DEF more optimal ways of playing the hand

I am about a 70/30 dog against his range. But this has to have a ton of fold equity given the stack sizes. I agree c/r would have been better to get the fold. Not sure how I like c/c and taking the passive line. I think I'd rather c/f.

Plus I'm sure it did wonders for my image.

i usually semi-bluff check-raise this draw or fold depending on the bet size and # of callers of the people behind me

Villain called with a set of 5's and river was a 7. I got the obligatory berating and as much action as I could handle.
