I like this trade for you as your opponent is definitly overvaluing Willis.

needle,

looks good, does your league count holds or not? if they count holds it's highway robbery. if not it's just good.

We do count holds and some reason I didn't think Neshak had the numbers he had. I really thought I was missing something, sometimes when people propose stuff like that I get confused and try and figure out what the missing link was.

Thanks Breman and NT.

BTW, NT, you do expect to have schilling back this weekend right?

neshek has been a stud, a top-15 reliever in leagues that count holds pretty much. he was awesome last season too.

all the word on schill's rehab has been extremely positive - probably overly positive, but they're saying that he found something in his mechanics, his velocity is back up, etc. his numbers in rehab assignments were very good.

EDIT: yeah i think he's lined up to start 8/5 vs SEA

mauer for renteria went through, i've got to add kotchman

still not sure who to drop, this is my entire bench:

billy butler
gotay
brendan harris
tulowitzki
kenny lofton (picked up when he got traded to the angels, he's hitting 2nd)

meh? none of them are very good, none seem that much better than the others. right now i have milton bradley in RF so i am wary of dropping butler.

Dump Gotay. He won't be playing with Castillo joining the Mets.

yeah i know. he's just the only guy who has been hitting at all lately. i keep holding out hope that he will somehow play 5 times this week and then i only have 2 weeks of brendan harris before utley gets off the DL.

A Big one...

I give up...

Johan
Wakefield
Freddy Sanchez
Crisp
Salty

For...

Halladay
Lidge
Atkins
Miguel Tejada
Lugo

Its a keeper league, we add L, K/BB and OPS Hitters Ks. I am looking to win this year, not too into the long term keeper thing right now. Im in 2nd place. Thoughts?

so I'm in 6th place out of 15, but don't think I have a real chance at winning.

one of the contenders has Phil Hughes ($3), another has Gallardo, ($6) and I have Wang ($13). I'm interested in trading Wang to get one of these guys who I can keep for cheap next year.

I'm not even sure either are a downgrade for this year.

that said, I don't think one guy will agree to give me Hughes for Wang. the other guy will do Gallardo for Wang I think.

now, I would much rather have Hughes than Gallardo, especially at $3 cheaper. but, I will likely have to give up something else at another position to get him. for instance, I would include Adam Dunn and he would include Thome (neither are keepers)

so, what is better for me:

Wang and Dunn for Hughes & Thome
Wang for Gallardo

?

or, am I wrong in thinking that $3 Hughes is better than $6 Gallardo?

Hughes is supposed to be a better talent, but has to pitch in the AL East. Gallardo will be pitching in front of what should be a great offense (Braun, Fielder, Hart, etc) for years to come.

I'd just go for Gallardo. Due to mostly to his league Gallardo should outproduce Hughes from a fantasy perspective. It's questionable if it's by $3 depending on how the salaries work out in your league. I'd take Wang for Gallardo, then start to work on a Dunn for Hughes deal.

Trade:

I have Cuddyer on the DL right now with only one DL spot. I'm sure that you guys know that Schil is supposed to be back around the 5th.

My bullpen is struggling with Casilla, Howry, Gagne, and David Weathers. My SP other than those in the trade are Carmona, Buerhle, Zambrano, and Harang.

I'm feeling that this trade is an upgrade for me in the bullpen. Getting anything for Willis is a + as well. Am I missing something or is this a no-brainer?

[/ QUOTE ]

You're doing very well in overall value in this deal and I would take it in a heartbeat. Schilling + Hill > Verlander + Willis. Neshek is a nice little bonus.
