Default Where Can I find.......

......good articles about Constitutional law-based anaylsis of current events.

I'm prepping for my Con Law final in law school and I want to read more about some topical and current constitutional issues.

us attorney firings, partial birth abortion ban (commerce clause), war in iraq, gitmo, etc.

Looking for some analysis that is hopefully unbiased and presents both sides of the issue from a constitutional law standpoint, not war=good, abortion=bad type stuff.

Any assitance would be appreciated.

I would think volokh.com and some of the other blogs they link to would be the best bet.

I'm pretty sure that since time of the war of southern independence, and probably even a bit before that, the constitution has meant bupkis.

Thanks for the help! Now how about pointing me towards some scholarly discussion of areas where executive/legislative/judicial action has gone beyond specific parts of the Constitution.

Oh, and if you plan on being cute and sending me a link to like "A Complete History of the US", don't [censored] bother.

If, however, you have some interesting articles/discussions as to how the Iraq war, US attorney firings, stem cell funding, etc. might go against the constitution or government limits, please go ahead!

Your post was a blatant AC hijack. It had NOTHING useful to help him. He did not want a debate, he wanted sources. But you turn it to make some ACist point that is COMPLETELY irrelevent. And you wonder why people complain about AC hijacks.

Isn't the Constitution like the Bible? You can read it any way you like.

I'd be intested how you could ever 'scholarly' discuss that.

Tom, you're responsible for half of this hijack.

OP, I'm sure you can find some stuff at Cato.org or Heritage.org for a Libertarian/Conservative side to some of these issues.

It's useful in the way that he now knows the truth about the constitution and government. In prepping him for his law school.. that's another matter.

But I thought this was a discussion forum, not a place to help you with your studies.
