Re: 10nl - jj pf decision
Call and play for a set. If you miss your set and SB bets/pushes on a low flop, just fold.
You're hoping to flop a set and have CO catch a hand too. If CO wasn't in the hand at all so that it was just you and the SB, then push or fold (I'd tend to fold unless I'd seen him 3-bet AQ/AJ/99-TT type hands) preflop vs the shorty in SB. But CO is in the hand, so call. |

Re: 10nl - jj pf decision
I did infact call but I wasn't sure whether I had the implied odds for the call assuming that I was behind pf.

But you have position on both the preflop raiser and the CO. And CO has a full stack. So, if you flop a set, it is often the top set. The short stack then bets/pushes, CO may call or raise, and you now have the potential for a big pot. It's a little marginal, but with CO in the hand I think its a call. |

Re: 10nl - jj pf decision
You're getting 3.33:1 pot odds to call 1.20$. Your odds for flopping a set are about 7.5:1.
Therefore you'll be needing implied odds to call. Assuming you called, the pot would be 5.20$. We can assume the SB would make a cbet here, say about ~3$, making the pot 8.20$. You would therefore be getting 6.8:1 implied odds. Of course, if you did flop a set, you'll probably be able to get more money in the pot on the turn (say another 1$ at least for 7.6:1 implied odds), and who knows maybe the CO might call his cbet and help your implied odds as well here... So I guess calling here is +EV. If the CO folded though, folding would be better (would have been 2:1 pot odds with implied odds close to 5:1 only). |
