what did i do wrong in this hand??

What do you guys think about raising this preflop? Personally, I know one of my bigger leaks is that I don't really know when or why you should raise from the blinds, 3bet from the blinds, or just call from the blinds facing a PFR. Lets say hero makes it 10c or 12c from the BB. Good or bad? People say to raise any PP from any position at 6max, but this rule seems too simplistic to be correct all the time.

with a pair that low i see no need to reduce the playing field since you know where you are at postflop most of the time no set chuck it in most cases so I don't think a raise here is absolutely necesssary....depends on your style.
