GTA San Andreas Cheat ?

I just picked up the PC version. I have the cheat codes from various sites but they don't work. Do I need to bring a box up or something before I type them in?

you should just be able to type it on the keyboard and hear a short techno-bump kinda sound.

try the helicopter cheat... the apache should just pop up close by you.
