Billy Spadea vs. Philip Hilm

At the Featured Table, Philip Hilm limps from the small blind for 80,000, and Billy Spadea checks his option. The flop comes {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and there is a surprisingly subdued reaction from the crowd. (Final table crowds usually ooh and aah at flops like this.) Hilm bets 110,000, and Spadea calls.

The turn card is the {4-Clubs}, and both players check. The river card is the {3-Hearts}, Hilm checks, Spadea bets 200,000, and Hilm calls.

Spadea shows {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a full house, tens full of threes, and Hilm mucks. Billy Spadea wins the pot.

omg why do you call a flop bet with six high and then *not* steal back on the turn? Stupid.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? A flop float planning on a river steal is fine in general. Not sure about stack sizes, etc. in this particular hand but none of the players seem to pay any attention to those anyway.

Why give your opponent two chances to improve their hand as opposed to one? Unless you've been doing a lot of stealing and float plays on the turn, then I guess this might be a change of pace. But it's a really risky move with six high.

Roy Winston Eliminated in 26th Place ($333,490)

Roy Winston opened up for a 380,000 raise. Jerry Yang moved all in for 4,100,000. Winston called.

Yang: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Winston: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop was {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Yang took the lead. The turn was the {8-Hearts} and the river was the {6-Spades}. Winston won $333,490 for 26th place.

Discuss.

Wonder what his railbird buddies think about that one.
