Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
I think I am thinking of the Brewer's TV guys which I just looked up as Bill Schroeder and Daron Sutton. I just saw some random game the other day, but I think it was Brewers v Phillies and I thought they were pretty good announcers.

Angels announcers redeemed themselves a little tonight when that photographer's Hubble-sized lens got shattered.

kid- the NYY announcers are lame and bad....LAA are the worst. most of the midwest teams seem to have guys who just call the game and are perhaps a little hokey. boston has the best, and i have yet to hear a close tandem. [/ QUOTE ] If you got out of the house and lived a little, you could have avoided the LAA announcers, enjoyed a few beautiful cool nites in So Cal, watched some live baseball with a friend and won 4 dimes in 40 game at Commerce without ever having to look for a good game. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
I hate to spout off hackneyed old baseball cliches, but it really was a hard-fought victory for the Red Sox last night.
They didn't give up. I mean, they're professional athletes, so I wouldn't expect them to quit. But, 2 nights in a row, on the road, against a tough team they took the lead, gave it back almost instantly and lost. When it happened again last night, there had to be a little bit of that 'oh-no-here-we-go-again' mentality creeping in. Since I always comment about how much they suck and play bad, I just wanna say that I'm proud of last night's victory. And they got a little lucky, too, which is nice to see every once in a while. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
C.B. Bucknor has got to be the worst home plate umpire in baseball. Every time I watch him call a game, it seems both sides are upset at him like every inning.
He called Papi out on a pitch that was like letter high and outside. The game could have been totally different, as the Red Sox would have had bases loaded with nobody out and Manny might have been able to hit into a triple play instead of just settling for two. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
I agree that he sucks. Papi's first at bat with a 2-0 count he took a belt high breaking ball that caught a good chunk of the plate and he called it a ball. Even my wife commented on how bad he is.
