Thanks for the help guys. Is there a good time to wait for deals or should I just go ahead and buy all the necessary parts?

Prices are always going down. If you need it now, get it. If not, wait.

BTW, memory is cheap. Get 2 Gigs.

And don't get hung up on only needing a 60gb (or whatever) size hard drive. You can frequently find higher capacity drives on sale or w/ rebates that make them cheaper or equal in price to much smaller capacity drives.
