Default Getting Information On Online Schools?

Does anyone know where I can find good information about online schools, or know of anyone that can supply such information?

A while back, I filled out some questionaire and had dozens of schools calling me and sending me crap. One school though, Columbia Southern, actually offered the program I was looking for and for a decent price.

I'm very much interested in giving them a shot, but I really don't want to blow money on a degree factory and have my piece of paper be useless.

OK I think we're saying the same thing. An online program from a real school is not the same as an online school.

I've come across several sites like this, but how do I know that these positive reviews aren't just shills?

Well if a school takes the time to put positive reviews on a website like this and others don't, maybe it shows you that the school is smarter?

Seriously, I have no idea. Same thing with any online user reviews. What can you trust? Looking at law firm rankings, I always imagine big firms offering bonuses for rankings increases to get people to rate everything favorably.
Here is a quick blip talking about importance of accreditation.

You can check if a school is accredited here:

I'm really not sure what else you can to check it out, other than dig deep into their websites for reports of what alumni are doing, the quality of the "professors", etc.

I applied for American Intercontinental U.-Online, it's an all-online school and I'm pretty sure they have an offline campus, so this may not apply.

My academic advisor has been contacting me every other day to make sure I fill out all my forms for the school and all the FAFSA forms and is helping to guide me through an online orientation. A lot of work to be pretty fake - I'm pretty sure this is legit.
