Am I totally nuts? Does anybody else fold AK in this situation? I know a lot of guys probably would 3bet. But any thinking player would know my 3betting range is precisely QQ+ and AK. How can 3betting possibly be good when my range is so narrow and my opponents are aware of that? Calling isn't a good option either, so I routinely fold AK here. Should I be admitted to the insane asylum?

You're right, it's just QQ, KK, and AA.

I was thinking more about the 7 players left to act behind me. I have a nitty image. For the sake of argument let's say I 3bet the UTG with AK. Even though AK beats UTG's range won't it only get action from the 7 remaining players when it's crushed by AA and KK? That's why AK is not in my UTG+1 3bet range and I just fold.

Do you honestly have a wider 3betting range than this if UTG has a standard range of AA-JJ, AK, and there are still 7 players left to act? When UTG is a tight player doesn't my range have to be this narrow?

It seems like you're worried more than you should be about AA and KK behind you.

Most UTG raisers ranges at NL200 except for the Ultra nitty, have ranges wider then AA-QQ, AK. A lot of TAGs at these levels raise any pair UTG, hands like KQs, AQo, etc.

Now do you see why you need to 3bet a wider range yourself?

Yes, I definitely need to 3bet a wider range if UTG is raising any pair. I think I'm just overly paranoid about 3betting from UTG+1 when there are so many players left to act. Thank you all very much for the replies.

3bet and if someone comes over you easy fold
