Imo, Colbert Show has better writing than the Daily Show. It's not always funnier, but the writing is just so biting at times that you know a large cross-section of viewers who aren't in on the joke (that he is playing a character) just totally missed it. (Again, just my opinion, but some of the best jokes are those that are so subtle you could easily miss them, and given audience reaction, they are frequently missed) [/ QUOTE ] The writing on the CR is some of the most intelligent writing on TV right now. "The Word" is incredibly dense in great, well-written humor IMO.

Colbert also asks his audience for participation in various hilarious projects. Changing Wiki pages, green screen challenge, getting a bridge named after him... just awesome.

I remember when me and my brother watched some of Colbert's first segments on the daily show we were both like "Yup, this guys going to end up leading the daily show". Ok so were wrong but we did correctly predict he'd have his own show, and it does get higher ratings then the Daily show I think.
