Value bet is worthless in both hands IMO. If villain was on a flush draw in hand 1, you most propably are going to win with AJo. He's not going to fold any pair. In hand 2 villain most likely has either J (weak villain) or 6 in his hand. Value bet is very thin, in either way, he is not going to fold.
