Default 1/2 KQo (semi) bluff

Villain is 38/14/1.1 wtsd 33% (400 hands)

Only hand this session between us Villain raised 87o in MP, I 3-bet AQo in CO and bet flop and turn (245r J). Villain donked a 4 river and I called.

Everest 1/2 FL Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG raises, Hero calls, 3 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: (5.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

River: (9.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets

Preflop I didn't know what to do, 3-bet?

On the turn I tried to make him fold, but I guess he could call with a gutshot or a weak pair and give up on the river.
Is this a good line?

Fold preflop, if you wanna play that hand reraise preflop.

190,065,744 games 0.047 secs 4,043,952,000 games/sec

Board:
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 39.404% 35.05% 04.36% 66613439 8280426.00 { KhQd }
Hand 1: 60.596% 56.24% 04.36% 106891453 8280426.00 { 77+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, AJo+, KQo }

Basically, if iīm right you need 50% equity against his range and you are far away from that number. Preflop is just awful.

I dunno how good that semibluff raise was, he shouldnīt betting many hands that give up to a turn raise.

In fact i donīt see many hands that fold here. AK would probably call. 99, 88 never folds.

I like a semibluff turn raise against a 50/25/2.5 Villian more.

Against this guy I think I fold pf. His range is pretty narrow for an UTG raise. As played, I think I would've played it more vanilla and just called turn and folded river. I don't know if the small size of the pot justifies your line or not. What I mean is, maybe a bigger pot would justify taking this line, Of course if the pot's bigger, he's less inclined to fold.

For a loose player, he does not have a big raising range which should be considered preflop. As others stated, just calling may be the worst of your 3 options. You could fold based off his tight raising range or 3bet to attempt to force the blinds out to build some overlay.

Postflop, I would tend to raise the flop over flat calling. His range is narrow and only a few of his holdings hit that flop. With his lower end showdown percentage raising the flop and betting the turn will cause him to fold a lot of his ace high cards.

When you 3-bet pf (which I would do) it sets the whole hand up differently. If you keep the initive you can continuation bet the flop and the turn. If you get c/r you have a better idea where you stand and you can peel and fold ui. Just calling a raise pf is rarely a good idea imo. Although I have found alot of TAGS will do it with small pocket pairs and make a move if the board comes low, that's a topic for another thread though. Don't cold call.

I would be interested in this guys stealing %. This is usually what would make the difference for whether I 3 bet or fold. If his stealing % is 30-40 it's clear he understands it's importance. If it's more like 10-20 then I think this is a legitimate raise and I don't mind mucking.
