Default Deck change please?

I was playing at a 1/2 NL live game in a local casino-within 15 minutes-I was dealt the same hand 3 times. Jack/6. (not the same suits each time) They play with 2 decks, and an auto shuffler. Would it be wrong to ask for a deck change in that situation?

not wrong, but ridiculous if you really think it makes a difference. 52 cards in a deck, shuffled so they are random.

I've always wondered the idea behind such a request. I don't mean to be rude, but could you elaborate a bit why you feel a setup change is necessary?

Assuming it's a "voodoo shuffler" thing, think about how difficult it would be to reconstruct a deck order. You'd have to pull in all the hole cards and sort them out to work in two passes, making sure not to confuse the burns or the board. Then you'd have to put them in a machine that would not change this order whatsoever, but move the required block of cards to the middle of the deck. Then you'd have to have a human cut the deck in exactly the right spot.

On the subject of shufflers. I had some down time the other day so I put a spaded deck through one of them. And believe me, we have dirty shufflers and sticky cards. There was no discernable pattern. I did the same thing with my hand shuffle without a scramble. Same result. Factor in the additional shuffle that occurs when you deal them out one at a time, and I am satisfied that cards are shuffled more than well enough for the purpose of this game, regardless of method used.

To answer your question-I guess it throw me off more than anything. First time I've sat down and had the same hand over and over and over again. I know it wasn't a setup, or anything- it was a 1/2 table nobody hand more than $300 bucks at the table, and there were only 6 people playing.

It was my first "losing" session at a BM Casino. So the more I'm thinking about it-I guess I'm trying to blame something for the bad session other than just me and playing poorly and making bad moves and even worse reads. I was off my game and played poor poker and was looking for things to blame beside myself. Taking it out on the deck seemed like a good idea (very lame reason I know)

Do you ask for deck change if you get AA twice in 5 minutes? deck changes should not be called unless you think the cards are marked.

I like your honesty. If you want a deck change, by all means ask for it.

You slow up the game when you ask for a deck change. Please don't do it.

If you feel the absolute dying need to ask for something ask them to wash the pool.
