Raising with bad cards - calling with good cards NLH
I have had alot of sucess recently with raising with bad cards preflop between 4 to 6 xBB when no one has raise in front of me and then making a continuation bet post flop about 4-6xBB when no one has raised in front of me.Alot of times i just steal the pot with my CB bet othertimes i just give up the pot when some plays back at me or i show the hand all the way down, othertimes I get lucky and hit two pair or trips and i win alot of money with my bad cards. In the same game i will call with all my good cards except AA. Ive also been getting my good hands paid off this way because most players see that im a crazy raiser with bad cards so most often they cant put me on a hand and i got them confused. Anyways theres alot more to this strategy this is just the basics. I know im going to be slammed by all of you for this post but im just letting you in on my personal experience with this type of unorthedox play.

Don't tell everyone the secrets.
Let them keep playing by the standard model of play. |

Re: Raising with bad cards - calling with good cards NLH
I think it can be a good way to play a long as it is not overdone. This style of play will be picked up on by better players(if there are any at the table)after a while. Try switching it up so after you have raised with some bad hands, raise a good one, vice versa and confuse the hell out them all! Have you been showing your bad hand bluffs when you pick up the pots? Not that you have to. If the table is entirely bad it won't really matter a whole lot either way, just value bet and raise.

i dont gets it.
why not just raise the good cards and the bad cards?? seems like bad poker to build the pot with bad holding and keep it small with good ones, no? where u play and what limits? |

i play at full tilt 1.00/2.00
I use to raise with my good cards but for some reason im making more money with the play i described above. I cant really understand it. Ive tried alot of different stratgies and i finally found one that brings me the most amount of profit so far. But i think the poster is right about good players catching on to what im doing or players that know me well. normally it works on very weak tight players and new players to this blind level that dont know how i play. |

It also could just be a hot run..you never know, you may end up running into bigger 2 pairs and better hands, which is the nature of playing crud cards

Re: Raising with bad cards - calling with good cards NLH
I've had a lot of success recently by providing my bank details to some nice people in corrupt African states who wish to move millions of dollars out of that country. They've promised me a healthy commission for helping them out of this tough spot. Although there currently seems to be a clerical error at my bank whereby my account has hit zero, I'm greatly looking forward to when the $4.7 million hits my account. Although I'm not greedy, I'm a pretty tough negotiater and have persuaded them to pay me 20% rather than the initial suggestion of 10% commission.
