lmfao @ you thinking an average RP is > than church. [/ QUOTE ] I think its the fact that Milledge might have been better used if packaged instead for pitching help(most likely starting than relief). Edit: or what triumph said. |

This sucks. WTF is with Omar's fascination with mediocre catchers?

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
Nobody even recalls that it was just about two seasons ago when the Nationals considered Ryan Church to be a clubhouse cancer.
My recollection is that he got sent down in late spring (like around May or June) not because he wasn't performing but because his religious zealotry had so aggravated his teammates that the team decided to send him a message. I wonder if anyone else recalls that. In Church's defense, I did not hear anything about this continuing to be a problem last year. |

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
mets don't like lastings. they are competing now. church = everyday corner OF with great D and solid bat. Above average regular. Cheap. That has a lot of value because they can depend on that... and they obviously don't think they can depend on Milledge
And since they know Alou is gonna get hurt that means Gomez is gonna be ni the lineup. They probably were not comfortable with Gomez and Milledge in the lineup at the same time. That's to be understood. And now their D is off the charts. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm curious how many Met fans thought on opening day our roster was going to consist of both of those players? I should have done a poll after the season to see how many people thought they would. |

So Gomez is going to be in the lineup for about half the season. Seriously dude, think of scenarios before you post. |

Re: *** Official NY Mets Our OFFSEASON Has Come Thread ***
i get that trades are not fair, but this wasn't the primary area of concern for the mets...who cares if church/schneider is better than an average RP, we didn't collapse because of the offense, so y should that be the area we focus on...
[censored] BAP, this isn't a draft, we need to focus on areas which can help us and we have huge, gaping, enormous holes in our pitching throughout... u can buy hitting, it's way harder to buy pitching, either way, trade for needs, not 'luxuries' |

Can we laugh hysterically now when the Mets put a bid in for Kosuke Fukudome?
