Default Party .5/1 big pot

Felt lost on this one. What am I doing?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, MP1 calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, Hero calls.

River: (10.75 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12.75 BB

I was fearing aces due to the preflop action, and thought it most probable he had a high pocket pair, possibly a set after his action on the flop. No reads.

Figured I was behind after his turn raise, but thought I had enough pot equity to call.

Results in white:
<font color="white">[censored] had J7 for a straight on the flop. </font>

Hey,

I suggest waiting to post your results until people have given feedback on the hand.

Given that this is a draw-heavy board, and I don't feel like giving a free card to AK/QQ/JJ, I 3-bet the flop and lead the turn here.

Yeah I had just sat down, so I didn't know yet. After this I find out he's a bit of a maniac. Should I get up and leave cause he's throwing me off? Or should I hang around until I get my hand and slap him with it?

You might not want to cap preflop when it's heads up.... even though at .5/1 perhaps it really doesn't matter.

I'd stick in a 3bet either on the flop or turn. You really can't be sure at all that you are behind because of his raises.

I wouldn't fear the straight too much as he 3 bet preflop. I would play it just as you did with the exception of 3 betting the flop.

If he's making you tilt, leave. If you can ride him out, you'll make big $$ off him when you do hit your set. Be aware that he's there and he'll be raising a lot, etc, so you don't limp in too much with hands you need to see cheap, etc.

I think I have played against this guy. Many times. And he does the same sh1t to me every night. Someday though I will catch him on a night where him capping 53o preflop against my AA doesnt net him a huge pot on a A24 flop!
