Another tip: This is relatively unknown/untalked about, but one of the best uses for the 30 second skip is watching football. I personally don't have time to watch all of the games that I want to watch, so what I do is pre-record it (don't check espn.com, etc), then I use the 30 second skip to go through it really fast. Of course, I use it for commercials, but you can also use it when the game itself is on. All you have to do is hit the skip the second the play ends and the timing usually works out so the next thing you see is the team on the line of scrimmage about to run the next play. I can watch every play as it was shown live and cut the whole thing down to 30-40 minutes. And if any play is particularly sick, I can watch the replay of the live broadcast or just wait for the TV replays -- but most plays don't deserve it and I can skip over the dumb replays that you're forced to watch if you watch it live. Pretty awesome.
