Default Over-raise PF steal...rationale?

I am in the BB, everyone folds (50NL) until BTN raises to $3 ie 6xBB...I had KQo and I folded.

Is it more likely he had nada?

I fold too. I don't bother defending my blinds like I do in limit, and I'm pretty sure that's the standard thing to do.

I mean if you're feeling frisky, you could put in a big raise and possibly take down his huge pf bet, but I don't think it's worth it.

Edit: added part in italics for clairty

This is 100% a raise or fold situation in NL cash games. If you have PT you could look at this attempt to steal % and if it is a bit high (over like 30-35%+) you could def argue for a resteal here, but a fold is usually your best course of action here. You aren't defending your blinds in NL, but you will make a 3-bet here sometimes with air (KQo OOP is air) because we are going to be 3-betting hands like QQ-AA and maybe AK out of the blinds often and this is a good way to balance.

I wouldn't say it's air. It's certainly not standard to 3-bet KQo OOP, but there's a huge difference between 3-betting 72o and what you're doing here. I consider "air" to be a completely worthless hand if called.

fold the first time, and watch him. If he keeps doing it, run over the top of him once every 4th or 5th time he does it, and profit greatly.
