Default 10 BB NL HU Poker

You sit on an empty table and an unknown player with 10BB stacks joins your table.

You get the Button, what is your raisingrange for the first hand?

that explains SAGE, which the optimal way of playing shortstack HU shove/fold poker.

"optimal" means unexploiatable. If you play SAGE, even Doyle does not have an edge against you. But, some players are too tight, in which case you should widen your shoving range, and some people suck at flop play, in which case minraising and limpimg might be acceptable, but usually I would just reccomend sticking to SAGE, you certainly can't go wrong with it.

I agree using SAGE is the best way to approach this situation. The R in the SAGE chart only goes up to 7 bb's though. I usually just go with 28 points for 8 bb's, 29 points for 9 bb's, 30 points for 10 bb's, but I think you have to adapt it slightly as stacks get a little deeper. Shoving J6 suited (30 points) with 10 bb's against a villain that has a very wide calling range doesn't seem to be +ev imo.

LOL!

Any two cards where they are both suited, and both higher than 9. I understand, that damn clock thing last night screwed me up, and it's before noon. On Sunday. Sunday, for crying out loud. Any one going to church?

109s??? J9s??? Q9s??? AX??? etc

Learning SAGE will eliminate a lot of the guessing game on what is a good shove and what isn't imo.
