Yeah that's exactly what I figured, I definitely passed on it. I was planning on getting a much better TV for my bedroom, but in the meantime I figured I'd jump on this for our living room and get a little something for the roommates to look at.

I just got the 50" 720p as well and I'm glad you have good things to say, Dire. Mine will be here next Thursday, but is shipping separately from the 360. Did yours come all together Dire?

Got my set in this morning at 8am on the dot. This TV (the 50" 720p DLP) is amazing. Games look so awesome. Even regular/nonhd cable channels look good - much better than they did on my smaller CRT HDTV which was suprising to me. Whatever smoothing filter they use on the image is very nice. The base of the TV (the part it sits on - less than the entire width) is 36" so it stands just fine on my old TV stand.

It's unbelievable this TV cost $1000.

re: bmwguy - I decided to pass on the service plan. Same reasons. This TV would have to break quite often and cost alot to repair to justify that on a $1000 TV, and I haven't read any reviews of it mentioning any quality issues.

Awesome. Now all I have to do is wait 5 agonizing days for my TV, Xbox 360, Halo 3, and HD DVDs to get delivered. Only 5 days.

I WANT IT NOW

I couldn't wait and went to the nearest Best Buy that had everything in stock...Got the 50" 720p (which is really the only model that makes this a deal), Halo edition X-Box 360, the 1600 points, and preorder for Halo 3.

TV is awesome, can't wait to get HD hooked up, but it looks great in SD, which I had heard was a problem for HDTV's. Hopefully the NFL GC works...even if it doesn't, $670 for this TV is absolutely ridiculous.

Still debating whether or not to just flip the 360/Halo...

Thanks for the heads up Shoe.

If you're a video game fan at all, which judging by your avatar I'm guessing you are, then don't do it.

I didn't get in on the deal unfortunately. I individually ordered the TV and Halo 3 before it was announced. I'd definitely expect them to ship separately though. The TV is delivered by Best Buy. They come in, unpack it, help move your old set (in my case at least), install it, etc. I'd imagine the 360 is probably just sent via UPS.

Oh, I'm sure I would enjoy it...the problem is that I am also a fan of money. Also, not sure I would have the time to utilize the 360 that much as I already own a bunch of games for PS2 and Wii (okay, just Metroid for Wii) that I have yet to play.

It's definitely worth at least seeing what the 360 looks like on the 50", if only to see what your TV can do as far as games go. Neither the Wii or PS2 are HD, so they really can't even come close to bringing out what this set has to offer.

lol that's not too surprising. Personally, the only reason I jumped on this deal was because of the cheapest TV making this a crazy deal. Gettin this TV for $670 made it so that even my non-working college roommate could chip in and I still have money to throw towards a nice TV for my bedroom in a couple months.

Now all I see is a $350 deal w/out Halo 3. I think I'm going to step up and get a 61", xbox, and get Halo 3 after tomorrow. Anyone know how long this deal is going to last? Also, has anyone had any trouble w/ the DLP projection? I currently have an LCD and want to know how it would compare to a DLP projection TV.
