Default Can I plug in 2 internets for double the speed?

Suppose I have 2 different internet providers and my computer has 2 network cards. Can I use both connections at once to double my speed (and reliability?)

If I use something like the DrayTek Vigor2910 (http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2910.html), will that double my internet speed or just provide a backup in case one fails?

In short no you can't. Not without some cash and higher end equipment. Dual WAN routers will make everything more efficient, but not leaps and bounds. Here's a good summary:
