News Alert:: Japanese too busy to have sex!

A few gems from this Australian news story:

"The secret of Japan's exceptionally low birthrate is out - more than a third of married couples do not have sex."

"Japan also came last in a table of 29 countries compiled by University of Chicago researchers into which had the greatest sexual satisfaction. (Austrians were first.)"

"The fertility rate, the number of children that the average woman will bear in a lifetime, fell to a record low of 1.25 last year, well below the "replacement rate" of 2.1. At the same time, Japanese are living longer. A situation looms in which a decreasing number of working taxpayers have to support a growing population of pensioners, leading to budgetary collapse."

I'm not sure this is mostly goofy/funny or politically important and where it should be posted but maybe, just maybe it's ElDiabloforumworthy.

If it's not just delete it and have me shot or sent to Japan.

i read this article, its on how sexually satisfied people are in a marriage. japanese guys seem really shovinist and i think the president said something like "baby machines arent doing their jobs" and <1% of CEOs are women in japan, etc etc.

This is pretty old, too. Its been talked about since the mid 90's when the birth rate started to slip.

uhhh.. what? Japan could be in a lot of trouble due to this, especially given their very low immigration rate.

By the way, most of Europe is definitely following suit (I think Greece has the lowest birthrate, with Germany, Spain, and France not far behind), and it's going to cause a buttload of problems. It's tough to run a welfare state without babies.
