I think the real sick divide on 2+2 is those of us who actually owned and used eight track tapes!

I'd bet it amounts to less than 1% of registered users.

Like VHS tapes and VCR I threw out my cassette tapes and player a long ass time ago.

It annoyed the [censored] out of me that when I bought my nice shiny new vehicle it had a 6 disc in dash changer, and a [censored] TAPE DECK! For [censored] sake, why???

You threw out your VCR? Unless you have Tivo or a DVDR isn't a VCR sort of useful; at least sometimes?

Does anyone ever tape a TV show these days?

Does everybody but me have a Tivo type device?

I do have a combo VCR/DVD player but haven't used the VCR part since starting on Netflix. I guess I should give away that big box of VCR tapes cluttering my closet. But I still need the VCR for a few tapes and recordings (e.g., family pictures transferred to VHS tape).

I wonder if donating a box of old VCR tapes, a nice cassette deck, and cassette tapes is considered tacky (sort of like Bill Clinton donating his old underwear (before he was Pres)).

My parents bought a Toyota Avalon a couple years ago with standard audio like what you describe above. I think models like this appeal to the older boomers who still have a lot of their music on tape. Me, I have a lot of music on tape but I managed to get most of it transferred to music files.

I wouldn't use or need that; I'm on a get rid of things I don't use or need jihad.

A future OP will ask the forum how tacky it would be to donate almost new perfectly clean briefs now that I've suddenly switched to boxers *. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

PS * I now assume my next underwear will be in the Depends line of products.
