Default Harrah\'s dealers can play in their own casino now

During a break at today's Caesars tourney I was railbirding the 5/10NL game and a Caesars dealer I know wandered up beside me and said hello and asked what I was up to. Told him I was playing in the tourney. He said "me too". Uhhh... I'm thinking he must mean he's dealing, but no, he's not wearing the uniform. I try venturing the question "so, uh.... where do you work now?" He says "Here!" and at that moment someone yells and says they've started dealing and we both hightail back to our respective tables.

But I pursued the topic. Turns out, Harrah's is now (as of Saturday) letting dealers play in their own cardroom. No more Harrah's dealers having to walk across to Caesars to play and vice verse.

[/ QUOTE ] I work at Horseshoe Tunica, which is owned by Harrah's. I'm a dealer/floor in the poker room. As of July 1st any employee can play off the clock in live games and tourneys. The only tourneys we can't play in are WSOP tourneys. Daily and weekly events we can play.

So it only took them about 20 months to catch on to that part of the poker world. That makes them only 5-8 years behind in other aspects.

It does extend to Caesars. In fact, Dwight and many dealers started a 3-6 Crazy Pineapple game Thrusday afternoon. It later turned into a mixed game which lasted most of the night.

It seemed like about 6-8 employees were playing at different times.

Yeah, I was confused for a while about THAT discussion at the Caesars tourney, too. The floor and a couple dealers were talking about the 3/6 mix game they were playing the night prior at Caesars and I was completely befuddled...figured maybe they were playing it in a backroom or something. Nope, once I learned that they could play in their own casino, it made complete sense.

I do not not for sure whether non-poker-dealers can play in their own casino's poker room now, but it would make no sense to allow the poker dealers to do so and not allow the others. But obviously before you risk your job you should ask your own management.

not true, harrahs dealers can play cash games in other harrahs owned casinos, they just can't have a total rewards card. They can't play in tournaments.
