Default heliskiing

has anyone ever been heliskiing in alaska or elsewhere? trip reports? what are the best places to go? good experiences, bad experiences?

anyone interested in a trip in march with me, bradl, and possibly others?

how good of a skier do you have to be for this? sick 21 hour flight for me too.

i don't think you need to be good - as long as you're comfortable on skis/snowboard you should be fine. but the better you are, the more terrain you can ride. if someone from here wants to come along, they should be of similar ability so that they don't have to sit out when we ride the more challenging terrain. i've been riding since '95, brad since who knows when, so we're pretty experienced.

we're going snowboarding btw, but tehre is no non-awkward term for helisnowboarding.
