So, I guess all the "it's stealing" posters think bluffing in poker is stealing.

[/ QUOTE ]

This might be the dumbest analogy I've ever heard.

If it didn't win, it would certainly still be on the stage when the winner of the Horrible Analogy Pageant is announced.

if there is no1 in the seats there is no way that this is stealing. U have to take something from someone for it to be stealing

U are smart. No1 else is as smart as u.

Anyway, no Mike Cuneo OP would be complete if I didn't link to my favorite thread of his, the one where his neighbor breaks his window and threatens him with a knife. Good times.

don't forget - his neighbor did it out of sheer jealousy.

I don't see how it's not obvious. Stealing from a company is taking a good or service for which you didn't pay. In the case of a baseball ticket you are paying for the right to watch the game from the seat marked on the ticket. If you move to a better seat then you are getting a better service than you paid for and hence it's stealing.

Things people have brought up, that it doesn't affect anything, that it's pareto improving are relevant to the issue of whether you should decide to do it but not whether or not it's stealing.
