Psandman deals in Vegas, so he may have more recent information than I do, but I've never played anywhere where the JP drop was taken before $20 were in the pot.

When the Harrah's [censored] bumped their rake up to the ridiculous amount of $5 it was widely believed that most other casinos in Vegas would soon follow suit. Does anybody have any news on any non-Harrah's properties that have also boosted their rake?

I ask because I'm going on out there on Monday and want to know which places to avoid.

$10 minimum in the pot is what is taken at MGM Properties that offer jackpots, as well as all Stations casinos.

No properties other then the Harrahs ones mentioned drop more then $4+$1JP. Stations reversed their decision to do it at Red Rock and GVR, and no MGM Mirage properties take more then $4+$1 at the moment (time collection obviously excepted).

The Palms recently dropped their max rake from $4 to $3 on all games.

[/ QUOTE ] That's a switch. I've never heard of a casino droping it's rake. Is Gene still the poker room manager there?

No poker room manager at all. An "announcement" was expected to be made last week or this week regarding the manager situation. Gene left awhile ago, not sure exactly when.

Harrah's properties in Atlantic City take a maximum $4 rake, 10% of the pot. They also drop a $1 Bad Beat dollar for every hand above 20 bucks. I think that is a casino control commision regulation in Atlantic City though. I think Harrah's in New Orleans takes a $6 rake too.

Paris has about the worst room on the strip. Why anyone would pay $6/hand to play there, I can't understand.

Harrah's NO rake is 5+1 JP, $6 time on all NL + 1 JP/hand. JP drop is taken at $20.
