Anyways, banning the use of gay and retarded.... is well, retarded. Gay is an acceptable word, I use it all the damn time to describe my friends who are, you guessed it, gay. Likewise about retarded; I'm not entirely sure when people started to think that was an un-PC term, but it's accurate and has a root in science. This dude has so low of an IQ that he is considered retarded. If I say something or someone is retarded, I'm essentially saying that person isn't very smart and it isn't a knock at retards, it's not like I blame them for being retarded that is just what they are.

Lori is right. If you really want to do this (which I don't think you should be, but whatever) you have to look at the tone of a poster and not the words used. But BBV was supposed to be the place where everyone could act a little immature on 2+2. I'm find it amazing that people are surprised that people act accordingly here.

I don't see anybody saying that you can't use gay to refer to people who are actually homosexuals. Using gay as a general pejorative in situations that have nothing to do with that is the focus.

EDIT: Yes, it is obvious that this kind of decision isn't going to change the world, or create new wellsprings of tolerance, or anything like that. From what the mods say, it sounds like the higher-ups view it as a business decision. Fine. I'm mystified how upset people seem to be getting about it, as if there is no way to truly express how they think or feel if they can't call things gay, etc.

sigh... BBV4LIFE was the one refreshingly un-PC place I could go to. It was nice to just be stupid around here and have fun.

That being said, I understand why the mods are doing this, although making the jump from random crap on a message board to the image of 2+2 is very questionable to me.

i've spoken to you (i think right?) and didn't think you to be nonsensical.

did you catch why mason55 got banned? it was obviously deserved. i think he can sweat out his last day of being banned without you losing any sleep over it.
