(16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
This looks like spewage, but in my opinion UTG can only call with a huge hand. (The old sandwich...) And given his not so great stack, I figured I coudl afford to see all 5 cards. Button is a pretty big donk, and can be calling a wide range here, so I'm nearly certain an overcall is out of the question. Thoughts?
BTW, 99+,AK is probably my normal range for something like this, with 88 being the pretty much lowest I'd try it with. Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
I don't like it because someone else called too. I like your normal range though 9's+ AK+. I don't think you have much FE someone is gona call you. Are you suppose to tight your range even more to like 10's+ just because someone else called the raise or 9's is fine?

I don't like it because someone else called too. [/ QUOTE ] this is the only reason that the OP is considering the push. dano---i agree with the 99, AK assessment. |

Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
usually i can dump a ton of salt on any calls like this by button. sometimes i push sometimes i fold.
i think this is mostly fold, with some sprinklings of read dependency. |

I think you are risking way too much here...
You have a huge stack and I think you should wait till later on when you have bigger edges. Scrilla |

Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
Doesn't button's call lead you to believe that his hand isn't strong enough to raise and isolate with, which would mean, ergo, button would fold to aggression from us? Is that what you guys are thinking, but you just need a slightly stronger hand to do that with?

Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
It depends on UTGs range for making a raise UTG. If he's an okay player and has a clue fo position, his range often is not that wide. I would've liked this squeeze play more if the raise was from CO

Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
the problem is utg raised well, under the gun... and now he's getting 2:1 on his call. i'm thinking 88 doesn't fair well here.

Re: (16) Pushing 88 out of BB after raise and call
I like this play at the 16s, unless you have a strong read that UTG is a tight player. 7-handed, UTG could be raising a fairly wide range. Assuming UTG calls your push and button folds, you need 43% equity to be ahead. So if UTG is raising AT/KQ here and either calling your push or folding to it, you should be fine.
