I have a strong urge to screw with this guy. I want to start taunting him about how I went out last night, dare him to tell me the names of five of my co-workers, friends, neighbors etc.
I'd love it if some of my buddies from the internet wrote him back and told him that if he ever came near me, they'd come after him, as I had given them all his contact info. I'd even be tempted to try and turn it around by threatening to reveal his identity to the police if he did not pay me. There's all kinds of fun possibilities, here.

I sent a complete copy of the e-mail to the FBI, including the address it was from. Prolly a bot or a zombie on someone elses computer, however.

[/ QUOTE ] Well, I suppose the intrique aspect of the whole someone-you-know-paid-me-to-kill-you is supposed to bring you in. Obviously, if this was a real hit man, his reputation would suffer greatly if he tried to extort his marks. Chances are someone would get the info back to the person who hired him and then he'd be in real trouble. I was entertained for about 2 minutes with the thought someone I knew would think enough of me to want me dead. Then, I was reading the e-mail carefully and discovered there was not a single shred of personally identifiable information about me specifically. Not my name, my city, my phone number or anything. That was the big tip off it was a new kind of spam. Suprising, really.
